I’m always looking to lower my overall EMF exposure, so EMF shielding fabrics have been on my radar for a while now. These fabrics are perfect for shielding myself from radiation-emitting devices, creating EMF-free enclosures, or blocking EMF radiation from entering through the walls in my home.

Blocsilver’s EMF Protection Fabric claims it can protect me against 5G radiation. This fabric attenuates 39.7dB at 10GHz, which may not guard against high-band millimeter-wave 5G, but at least it protects me from the low and mid-band.
I love that I can wash this fabric up to 40 times while still maintaining its effectiveness. Furthermore, it’s breathable and transparent, making it a great choice for a bed canopy. Like the other fabrics on this list though, Blocsilver’s fabric does not shield against ELF-EMF radiation. It does, however, seem to be effective at blocking against RF-EMFs when tested with an EMF meter.

The second product from Amradield on my list is their copper fabric. This fabric is made from a combination of copper and polyester, giving it a unique copper-gold color. It boasts an average attenuation of 85dB at 30Mz to 18GHz. Because of the copper content, this fabric is capable of creating a Faraday cage when used appropriately.
Like the manufacturer claimed, this fabric is indeed easy to sew and cut, making it a versatile choice for a variety of applications. You could use it to make clothing, laptop covers, wallet cases, bags, and curtains.
The best fabric I know of to shield against EMF exposure is the TitanRF Faraday Fabric from Mission Darkness. This fabric offers military-grade protection from RF-EMF radiation and even comes with conductive adhesive tape, which is helpful for connecting multiple strips of fabric together.
TitanRF Faraday Fabric is tested and certified by Keystone Compliance, so I have no doubt that it’s a high-quality product. The manufacturer recommends applying a triple layer for maximum effectiveness. Where To Use EMF Shielding Fabric
EMF shielding fabric can be used in any room of your home, but it is especially important to use in the bedroom. When you sleep, your body repairs itself from damage done throughout the day, and this includes the damage done from EMF radiation. By giving yourself a break from radiation exposure while you sleep, your body is better able to repair itself.
The main way I use EMF shielding fabric in my bedroom is as a blanket and on the walls. My bedroom wall is opposite a smart meter and the room picks up a neighbor’s WiFi signal, so hanging the fabric on the wall serves as a barrier between the radiation and my bedroom.
I also drape EMF shielding fabric over WiFi routers, cell phones, and other devices. If the fabric is effective, this provides temporary and immediate relief from EMF exposure. Not sure if your fabric is effective? Let’s take a look at how you can test it.
Testing Your Fabric
To test the effectiveness of the EMF shielding fabric, you need an EMF meter. I usually recommend the TriField TF2 because it’s a high-quality meter that can detect electric, magnetic, and RF radiation. However, if the TriField TF2 is a little expensive for you, I suggest considering the MeterK as a more affordable option. Once you have an EMF meter, you can start testing the fabric. First, you need to check the radiation levels without the fabric installed. For example, if I’m draping the fabric over my WiFi router, I need to check the levels of the router without the fabric. If I’m hanging the fabric on an interior wall, I need to check the room’s levels in different positions without the fabric.
After noting down the levels sans-fabric, you can install the EMF shielding fabric in the desired location and re-check the levels. If the levels drop significantly, it means that the fabric is working. However, if they don’t drop, it’s possible that the fabric is faulty or not positioned correctly. You need to make sure there are no gaps, holes, or rips in the fabric that could allow a signal to penetrate through. If there are, fix the issue and then re-check the EMF levels. And if not, consider contacting the manufacturer for further assistance.
We can use EMF shielding fabrics in numerous ways to protect ourselves and our families from the negative effects of EMF radiation.
